For Bellingham to wants to earn his place once again into the English top starting eleven, it would be smart to eliminate the nonsense. His reaction when he saw that he was going up after an evening of uneven play in the match against Albania was not good enough.

He flung his arms in the air and even though he exchanged a handshake on his way to the sideline there was no doubt that the manager did not appreciate it.

This is the challenge that Bellingham must overcome. He congratulated his teammate for delivering the cross for Harry Kane to nod home the team's second, but his other actions was self-defeating. It's not like protesting was going to reverse the substitution. The coach has talked so much about honoring the team structure and the value of behaving correctly.

Facing Examination

The midfielder, left out of last month’s squad, has been under scrutiny after returning to the team in the current camp. In effect his place has been in question and he has not done himself any favours by reacting to coming off the pitch as the side wrapped up a flawless qualification run by seeing off a spirited effort from Albania.

Tactics and Formation

This implies opinions are divided on if the team function at their best with Bellingham in the team. The evidence here was not definitive. There was experimentation from Tuchel in the beginning. Bellingham was a mixed bag. He made a chance for Eberechi Eze during the second half but at times seemed too desperate to impress. Several rushed, misplaced passes. A pointless clash with an Albania midfielder in the early stages. England were ragged for much of the second half. A scoring chance for the opponents followed Bellingham squandered possession. His booking occurred when he lost the ball to Broja and fouled the attacker.

Squad Strength Shows

Ultimately the squad's strength was decisive. The coach brought on the Manchester City player, who seemed better suited to the role in which Bellingham operated during the first half, and the Arsenal winger. Eventually Saka whipped in a corner kick for Harry Kane to break the deadlock. It was a reminder that dead-ball situations will be crucial next summer.

Connection Remains

Still, though, all talk was about Bellingham. The quality of the winger's delivery for Kane's goal was somewhat overlooked amid the drama of the Rogers substitution. After the final whistle, everyone was watching him. Tuchel walked up from behind and directed Bellingham towards the away supporters. Their connection is not damaged. Tuchel hasn't decided to discard him at this stage. However, whether the coach is prepared to give him a starring role is not guaranteed.
